An Improved Rear Sight for the FN-FAL

Shown below are some photos of a prototype FN-FAL sight adapter that uses the Williams FoolProof click adjustable sight. It can be used with the standard front sight and is adjustable for both windage and elevation. Anyone who has dealt with the production military sight will appreciate this improvement

This is the original proof of concept rear sight. It uses the Williams 'Foolproof' sight bridge and is fastened via a standard William base to an adapter that fits the FAL rear sight dovetail. Click adjustable for windage and elevation.

This is the second prototype. The dovetail for the sight bridge has been moved to the right side of the receiver to avoid interfering with the take down lever. The dovetail adapter also now includes the sight dovetail in a single unit.

This is the third prototype and is approaching the final production configuration. Some esthetic modifications have been made, and the sight bridge is now enclosed in a protective 'trough' .

Status

People keep asking what the status is for the FAL rear sight. At present, the final production version is finished and I'll be posting more photos soon. I am still trying to find a manufacturer, and am currently in negotiations with one that looks promising.
